Fees and Dues
Fees and Dues
The cost for one year of scouts includes a National Boy Scouts Association fee, a Simon Kenton Council fee and our Pack 632 dues. Below is an explanation of what is included in those fees and dues. Some activities, including our campouts, require an additional fee. Occasionally we will have potluck style events where each family is asked to bring food.
The National Boy Scouts Association and Sim Kenton Council fees ($85 and $60, respectively) pays for administrative management, leader training, background checks and facilities that we use every year such as Camp Lazarus.
The Pack dues ($25) include advancement loops, Pinewood Derby cars/Raingutter Regatta kits/Rocket Kits, Blue and Gold Banquet, facility rental fees and other fun activities sprinkled in.
New! Starting with the 2023/2024 school year, dues for all scouts (new or returning) will be paid online by families. Following this year, dues will be due on the anniversary of this year's payment. New scouts will have varying anniversary dates.
Most importantly, no child will be denied participation in our Pack because of an inability to pay dues. Payment plans, scholarships, and other options exist for families with extenuating circumstances. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you would like to explore these options and rest assured that the strictest confidentiality will be maintained regarding financial matters.
Timing of Dues Payments
Dues are paid annually. Pack Dues are not included and will be collected separately. The remaining pack dues ($25/scout) will be collected at the next packing meeting you attend.
Thereafter, you will pay dues annually on the anniversary of your registration. You will receive reminders 30 and 60 days in advance.
Here is how popcorn sales can offset your 2024 dues:
Scouts can sell popcorn in September and October. Each scout’s dues are offset by their individual popcorn sales. Below are example numbers (example doesn't include New Scout Fee).
